Hope to see you there…….Have a great 2008
I received this question this week from one of my clients and thought it may be something others are interested in.
If I have more than one person I’m dealing with at a carpet store, shall I mail my newsletter to each and every one ?
How about with the realtors ?
Well, if you have certain salespeople or realtors who are referring you, YES you should send a seperate mail piece to them.
Why? What if Bill gets the special offer, puts it in his desk and forgets to tell Ted?
Or, what if the new receptionist doesn’t know who you are and throws your piece in the trash?
Now, you don’t have to do this with all your mailings, but consider sending individual pieces for the important mailings.
If you can tell the referral source is not referring you as often, you may reconsider this strategy. But, the more you stay in contact with your clients, the better they’ll remember your name.
One HUGE mistake I’ve been noticing lately while working with the FREE link exchange is many cleaners fail to mention their city name on their website and in their HTML code.
If your city name isn’t there, how will the search engine know what city you’re in? They won’t. And you’ll never come up in ANY SEARCH for your city, no matter how many incoming links you have.
So, follow the 4 Easy Steps To Optimize Your Website in the post below carefully. You’ll learn exactly what it takes to get listed higher. Go in and add this information yourself, have your webmaster do it, or email me for a quote on what I would charge to do it for you.
Heck, if you purchase my Hitman Package this week, or register for Howard Partridge’s Roundtable, I’ll give you another EXTRA BONUS and do the optimization for you FREE. But you must mention “the Hitman sent you” when you call Howard’s office at 877-354-7960
Otherwise, you can pay $50 to have me edit your keywords, title tags, and headers. I’ve got the exact formula down on how to get in the top ten of search engines for your city.
FREE Link Exchange
Okay, the link exchange will be ending soon. But, if you want to get in, go to www.Hitmanadvertising.com/freelinks.htm
If you take advantage of buying the Hitman Package this week, or register for Howard’s Roundtable, I’ll add your page to the link exchange at NO ADDITIONAL COST. Or, you can add the page yourself if you are web saavy.
This is the quickest, cheapest way to get a super profitable website–This offer won’t be available after August 31st.
Here are some basic Search Engine Optimizations pointers to help the search engines rank you higher. If you right click on your web page you’ll see a menu that comes up. Click view source and you’ll see the HTML code. This is what I’m referring to here.
All you have to do is change the code, save your file, and upload it back to your website with an FTP software.
1. The <title> tag must contain the main keyword phrase for which you are optimizing that page. Use phrases like “carpet cleaning, cleaning, tile, rug, your city name, etc.” Google in particular places heavy emphasis on what is in your page’s <title> tag. So does MSN. (Your web master may help you out here)
2. The <meta> keyword tag will contain your key word phrases for the specific page you are on:
<meta name=”keywords” content=”your keyword phrase1, keyword phrase 2, etc.”>
Don’t make this more than about 250 characters long. Don’t use the same key word more than three times in it. Vary the capitalization. Don’t use all capital letters unless the word is an acronym.
3. Put a keyword phrase in your Heading.
These “headings” make your browser display the text larger and set it aside from the rest of the text, on its own line. Search engines will look for and index your headings when they index the pages on your site, so our headings should ALSO contain the main key word phrases for our site, like this:
<h1>Your Keyword Phrase</h1> A good keyword to place here is your city name to like <h1>Pensacola, FL</h1>
4. Use Key Words in Your Text.
Your optimized page should contain TEXT of at least 250 words, with the key word phrase “Main Keyword Phrase” occurring a couple of times near the beginning of the text. If a page doesn’t contain at least 250 words, some search engines won’t bother to index it. It’s preferable to have 500 words or more if possible, on a page. You’ll get better results from the search engines if you have more text.
This is quick and simple SEO tactics that you can use to keep the search engines on track with you site. (They work for me!)
If you don’t have a website for you carpet cleaning business, you can have one for as little as $97. For $97 you can use the template from my site and do all the changes yourself. Or, if you would like me to do the changes for you (you provide all the copy and pics), I can do it for an additional $200. Your site will be modeled after my cleaning company site: www.CarpetCareTips.com
So for only $297 you can have your own website and have it optimized by one of the best search engine optimizers for carpet cleaners that there is (that’s me…sorry to brag, but I’ve pretty much got this optimization thing down). Email me John@hitmanadvertising.com
It’s inevitable you will get some callers who are concerned about price. However, you can greatly curb this problem by the ad you run.
First, avoid mentioning price in your advertising. I know this seems strange, especially when most carpet cleaning ads plaster their price across the headlines. But this does promote price shoppers. If the headline says, “$5.99 a room carpet cleaning”, then this is the reason why they are calling.
Second, use headlines with benefits instead of cheap price. Consider topics such as pet stain removal, tile cleaning, and allergy relief. This gets the reader’s attention off price.
Last, pay close attention to the media you are advertising in. If you are advertising in a coupon mailer, don’t be surprised if all you get is price shoppers. Consider what your prospect is doing when they see your ad. Are they sipping coffee while sitting in their recliner such as they would be if reading a newspaper. Or, are they in a sandwhich shop on their lunch break such as if they are reading a FREE coupon publication.

Here’s a quick tip on how you can get prospects to visit your
website. As you may have figured out by now, simply putting your
web address in an ad rarely gets much response. The key is to give
them a reason to take the time to visit your site. It’s like a
headline for your website.
It takes quite a bit of work to go from reading the newspaper (or
yellow pages, etc) to surfing the net. So the call to your website
MUST be strong and relevant to your ad.
For instance, if your ad is about tile cleaning, your call may be
“To see how beautiful your floor will look, visit
www.CarpetCareTips.com.”
If your ad is about expert stain removal you can say, “To see an
extensive list of all the stains we can remove on your carpet,
visit www.CarpetCareTips.com.”
If your ad is selling pet stain removal say, “For a FREE pet stain
removal guide, visit www.CarpetCareTips.com.”
Just keep it short and benefit driven. Tell the prospect EXACTLY
what they’ll get by going to your site and why it will help them.
Tell next time,
